Crystals and Gemstones
Our darling planet Earth is 4.6 billion years old—and she looks fabulous! We know her age from radiometric dating, which measures the rate of decay in minerals. Even decay is a form of vibration, and this illustrates the dynamic nature of rocks, crystals, and even dirt—always vibrating. The level and frequency of these vibrations are what we can glean from them and use in energy healing. In other words, crystals are as old as dirt! Crystals actually are dirt—call them fancy dirt.
Using crystals for healing is an ancient technology—so prevalent, in fact, that it’s part of our language and associated with both spirituality and royalty. For example, we aim to make it to “the pearly gates,” or we hope to see “the crown jewels.” We have found jade in Egyptian tombs, thought to guide souls in the afterworld. The Chinese use jade to this day for healing. Gemstones and semiprecious stones are sought after and actually considered a sign of wealth. The good news for the rest of us is that all of this “ancient dirt” is magical earth medicine.
The word “crystal” is derived from the Greek word krustallos, which means both ice and rock crystal. “Quartz” means a clear, colorless mineral. Crystals are also used as electronic components. Salt, glass, and jewelry are all associated with crystals as well.
Crystals are formed in the earth and are often found combined with other minerals. There are several steps in the crystallization process, in which elements combine to create heat; the crystal is formed in the cooling process. Other shifts can occur through exposure to or pressure from liquids, solids, and temperature. While they seem to be a solid form, crystals are still expanding, shifting, and mutable. Perhaps these qualities are what we seek from them.
Wearing gemstones in necklaces to feel pretty or putting a lucky stone in your pocket for a job interview automatically lifts your frequency. Did you know that this is no different from using crystals for healing? Knowing that a particular crystal has a wonderful purpose or healing quality, coupled with your need and/or intention, ups the ante a bit. Why not enjoy this wonderful magic?
You can attach crystals to a dog’s or a cat’s collar, or you can put it next to their bed. Just be careful your pet doesn’t eat the crystal! If you ride horses, you can wear the crystal while riding or attach it to the halter or saddle pad. You can hold one with you as you work to improve your telepathic abilities and communicate with your animal. Crystals hold energy, memory, and even technology.
You can use crystals to mitigate emotions and behaviors in your animals, such as possessiveness, clinginess, separation anxiety, grief, demands, lack of confidence, and even the need to reboot their polarity. Many use crystals to bring animals back into their body. Crystals can help to amplify good behavior, improve communication, and promote well-being. Crystals can be used to treat physical symptoms as well, such as inflammation, migraines, muscle soreness, and backaches.
